Day 30, my final banana march - what a day! The busiest one of the march š 30,227 steps, 14 miles & 23 km. 7.30am - day starts with surprise birthday doorstep party with my lovely neighbours š² 8am - BBC 3CR arrive to do live broadcast on Andy Collins breakfast show with special guest Judith Lodge singing her banana splits song with Segenhoe Choir š Thanks Justin and BBC 3CR - brilliant support š 9am - surprise visit to Josh in Ridgmont to say thanks for my great poem he wrote for me š Then onto Barnwells nursery for photos, thanks for the donation š Onward through Husbourne Crawley, Aspley Guise and a surprise video for Andy in Byron Bay in Australia!!!! š Through Woburn Sands and up to Frosts - so many friendly faces, best wishes and car horns... incredible! Back through to Asplands surgery to say hello and well done š Bumped in Doctor Howells who tells me they are in for their busiest spell of vaccinations yet šš Its 1pm so its homemade chicken pasties, coffee and cake at Gina's pitstop then see my good friends Carmen, Bob and Jack, Nicky at the library and met paramedic Jennie from Luton & Dunstable Hospital answering a call locally! Again so many smiles and waves š Start for home via Woburn and the banana wall - loads of cars blasting on what is now a very warm day then a wave to the shocked swimmers at Woburn lido š Then another birthday surprise - all my wonderful family meeting in Husbourne Crawley š² Walking with me for the last 3 miles š then the final hurrah with Angus and his drone meeting me as I enter Segenhoe ā a brilliant finish as I cross the homemade line held by Arlo and Nelly š Met by many smiling faces in the sunshine and bananas of course šššWow...wonderful! Then lots of birthday messages and visits from family in the gardenššš Then the very last thing to do was to say a big thank you and then jump into a freezing swimming pool at the Gill family HQ šš²š Howās that after 30 days..... 835,332 steps, 392 miles, 633 km, 224 hours walking to and from my front door and Ā£6,021.66 raised so far (Ā£7,048.97 including gift aid) and counting.... absolutely marvellous!! š Thank you so much everyone - banana over but not out ššš
